学生団体の活動で得た宝物

I’m a member of the student organization that helps junior high school students enjoy their school trips more. In this article, I’d like to describe the club’s activities and importance. The club’s basic purpose is one university student accompanies one student group, showing this student group around famous sights and places in Tokyo. I moved to Tokyo when I entered university, and the reason why I moved to Tokyo was a result of visiting Tokyo on a school trip when I was a junior high school student. At that time in my life, I was excited to experience the cutting edge culture of Tokyo. Because of this experience, I joined this organization to present a variety of future path options to junior high school students living in rural areas, just as I was. For instance, the most impressive tour for me was when I showed students on a school trip from Yamagata prefecture around Ueno and Asakusa. It was special for me because it was my first tour activity. At first, I was worried about whether the students would trust and accept me, and whether I could support and guide them smoothly. However, my anxious feelings instantly went away because the students were eager and very honest. My goal was to show them a variety of attractions in Tokyo and create fun memories throughout the day. Yet, I also had the opportunity to rediscover the attractions of Tokyo for myself. This time, I visited Tokyo Skytree as a tourist, but the view from the observation deck was very different from when I visited on a school trip when I was a junior high school student. As a tour guide now in my third year of living in Tokyo, the view was truly impressive. When parting with the students, the girls in my group told me, “We’ll miss you.” It was a short trip, but we got along well and I miss them very much too. I still treasure the “purikura” we took together.

私は中学生の修学旅行をより楽しくなるようにサポートする学生団体に所属しています。今回はその活動内容と大切なことについて紹介します。この活動では基本的に、1人の大学生が1つの中学生の班に付き添い、中学生に東京の有名な観光地や施設を案内します。私は大学進学と同時に上京したのですが、上京のきっかけとなったのは、中学生の頃に修学旅行で東京に訪れたことでした。当時、私は東京の最先端の文化を体験し、とてもわくわくしていました。そのような経験から、私と同じように地方に住む中学生にさまざまな将来の進路の選択肢を提示するためにこの団体に参加しました。活動の中で特に印象に残っているのは、山形県から来た修学旅行生に上野、浅草を案内したことです。なぜならそれは、私にとって初めてのツアー活動だったからです。はじめは彼らが私を受け入れてくれるのか、彼らを集合時間に遅れることなくスムーズにサポートできるのかとても不安でした。しかし、彼らはとても素直で元気だったので、そんな不安はすぐに消え去りました。私の目標は、彼らに東京のさまざまな魅力を伝えて、一日を通して楽しい思い出を作ることでした。しかし、私自身も東京の魅力を再発見する機会にも恵まれました。今回、観光で東京スカイツリーを訪れたのですが、展望台からの眺めは私が中学生の修学旅行で訪れた時とは大違いでした。東京に住んで3年目になるツアーガイドとして、この景色は本当に印象的でした。生徒たちと別れるとき、私のグループの女の子たちは "離れるのが寂しい"と言ってくれました。短い旅でしたが、私たちは仲良くなれたので、とても会いたいです。一緒に撮ったプリクラは今も宝物です。
