建築設計のための人との出会い

I study architecture in college because I want to be an architect in the future.

In the final assignment of my first-year university class, I designed a house. I thought of a house that combined open and closed spaces. It was characterized by a small outbuilding like a guesthouse. It was my first independent design, but I was very satisfied with my work. I spent the most time creating the wooden lattice for this model. I colored it dark brown with a pen and devised it so that the lattice was evenly spaced.

I also serve on the Open Campus Committee. In January, I participated in helping a senior that I met there with their graduation project. The work of my seniors was different from ours in scale. They considered a very wide range of areas, not only houses, but also community buildings. The works of my seniors were very detailed and wonderful.

This year, I would like to join a renovation circle. This is an important opportunity to be involved in actual architecture. I am looking forward to it because I think it be look different than creating models and my way of thinking will change. Also, by meeting different people in new circles, I will be able to expand my ideas.

I heard that I will be designing a children's school during my sophomore year, so I want to participate in volunteer activities and think about a space that is comfortable for small children. I would like to consider interactions with various generations and make use of it to design buildings that are the future of architecture.

私は将来建築士になりたいと思っています。なので、大学で建築の勉強をしています。

大学1年生の授業の最終課題では自分で住宅を設計しました。私は開放的な空間と閉鎖的な空間を合わせもった住宅を考えました。別荘のような小さい別棟を設けたのが特徴です。初めての自主設計でしたが、とても満足のいく作品を作ることができました。私がこの住宅模型を作成する上で最も時間をかけた部分は木の格子です。ペンでダークブラウンに色付けし、格子が等間隔になるように工夫しました。

また、私はオープンキャンパス委員会を務めています。1月にはそこで出会った先輩の卒業制作のお手伝いに参加させていただきました。先輩の作品は規模が異なり、住宅のみならず地域というとても広範囲を考えられていました。先輩の作品はとても素晴らしく、憧れました。

今年度はリノベーションをするサークルに入りたいと思っています。実際の建築物に関わる重要な機会です。模型とは大きさが異なり見え方や考え方が変わると思うので、とても楽しみです。また、新しいサークルでさまざまな人に出会うことで、新しい発見をしてアイデアを膨らませたいと思いました。

2年生では子ども園の設計などをやると聞いたので、ボランティアなどに参加し、小さい子の過ごしやすい空間を考えたいと思いました。
このようにさまざまな世代との交流を大切にして、今後の建築の設計に活かしたいです。
